Gwangmyeong Cave: Korea’s Best Cave Theme Park
The Gwangmyeong Cave was the only metal mine in the metropolitan area where people have dug gold, silver, copper, and zinc for 60 years (beginning 1912). The mine was closed in 1972 and had been used later for salting and fermenting shrimps transported from the Sorae port, something that has already slipped our memories. Since 2011, however, the abandoned mine has been restored after a long hiatus; it now serves as a landmark for exciting experience and tours, where theme, culture, and history coexist.
